With all my heart I believe humility is extremely important. We see it’s emphasis all throughout Scripture. I look at my own life and am reminded at how much it’s lacking at the ground zero level of my heart. I’m pretty sure that’s one of those Jesus traits that just won’t come to full fruition until I’m standing at His feet. Read the rest of this entry »

You Know You’re a Mom When…
You know you’re a mom when you look at having surgery as a vacation!!! Sad huh! Well just so you know the vacation ended this morning. Monica must have crawled up in the bed with me because when I opened my eyes she was curled up behind me jabbering away. She held up a diaper as though she wanted me to change her. I was awake enough to realize Steven wasn’t in bed so of course as the good responsible mommy– NOT!— said go ask your daddy! Apparently that would not suit her for she threw a fit and landed the diaper right in my face. I was glad she did for little did I know that when I rolled over I would find an already diaperless child with poo smeared ALL OVER my sheets! EWE! I’ll spare you the rest of the details and just let you know we got her cleaned up. Read the rest of this entry »
Spiderman Re-charge
Today on the way home from preschool Eli piped up from the back seat, “Mom, my webs are gone!” Hmmmmmm I had no idea what that meant. At a stop sign I turned around to check it out. “What do ya mean buddy?” Casting his fingers in the spiderman fashion he replied, “Look my webs are all gone.” I smiled, commented I was sorry I couldn’t help out with that, and drove on home.
At nap time I learned something new. There is a way to get your “webs” back….
Wanting to make sure he was doing as he was told, I went in to check on the little guy. Sure enough he was in bed, lying down, and being quiet. However, he had attached to his head a hard plastic spiderman mask. There was absolutely NO WAY you could go to sleep with that thing on. I started to take it off. He objected, “Mom don’t take it off. That’s the only way to get my webs back!!”
Guess what? he will wake up web less….. =)
Catching Up
Being away from the blog a few days has been a new experience. I find myself anxious to sit down and catch up and yet not exactly sure how to start. I’m afraid I cannot accomplish a review of the week without being “listy.” So instead trying to be creative and putting off catching up I’m just going to have to be “listy”. Here’s an embarrassingly long day by day of our 7 day trip. I PROMISE to never write a post this lengthy again…. Read the rest of this entry »
Little Boy, Baby Girl
I know this post comes from a mixture of fatigue and many hours reading countless childrens books to my kids. Let me warn you the meter and rhythm aren’t perfect. It originated last night. Hopefully my kids will laugh at it someday. I want them to know that even during the adventures they send my way I still have ALWAYS loved them and God loves them more! Read the rest of this entry »
MacGyver Mom- I guess!?!?!?
You may need to use your imagination so you can visualize this happening. The following account is a true story! =)
While sweeping off the back porch this evening, I paused to scan the yard just to make sure my munchkins were behaving themselves. Mind you I had just spoken to both of them only minutes before focusing on the task at hand. My visual computed just enough information for me to realize the smaller of my two was missing. Eli relayed that Monica had stepped inside. I turned to open the door and tell her to come back outside. However, to my utter dismay I realized the door had been LOCKED!!!!!!!! Eli confessed he did it. Steven was gone at the time and the only person inside the house was my 20 month old. All the cell phones were inside as well. YIKES!! Read the rest of this entry »
Appropriate??
“No, splashing Monica!!” This sentence sounds appropriate for the bathtub, swimming pool, and maybe even mud puddles, but somehow used as dinner table language seems a bit of a stretch. Don’t you agree? Not at our house!! These exact words were said as Monica gleefully splashed her spoon in her potato soup tonight. Eli thought sister had a good idea and joined in gladly. However, all he got was a “the eye” to tell him to stop it.
Day of Searching
As I mentioned earlier this week I’ve not been getting much sleep. However I guess I shouldn’t have said anything because it got worse. My kids have had nasty coughs the past several days. They’ve acted fine in the day but were not well at all after bedtime. I didn’t get to sleep until 2:00 am one night with Eli, and the next night I was up until 12:30 am with Monica. They were both up around 6:30 the next mornings. Soooooo as a girl that requires sleep I’ve been one worn out mommy! Read the rest of this entry »
