Day of Searching

As I mentioned earlier this week I’ve not been getting much sleep. However I guess I shouldn’t have said anything because it got worse.  My kids have had nasty coughs the past several days.  They’ve acted fine in the day but were not well at all after bedtime.  I didn’t get to sleep until 2:00 am one night with Eli, and the next night I was up until 12:30 am with Monica.  They were both up around 6:30 the next mornings.  Soooooo as a girl that requires sleep I’ve been one worn out mommy!

Late last night I did something I rarely do and took off my rings right before going to sleep.  I sat them near the top of my bed on a window ledge and was planning on putting them on first thing in the morning.  With my strange sleeping schedule from the week I didn’t just “pop” out of bed.  Steven was home and let me try to sleep in as best he could.  Well…….. at some point a little munchkin came in and swiped my rings.  After searching at least 45 minutes I found one ring that has sentimental value under the bed almost to the middle of the mattress, but my wedding ring was still missing!!!

I couldn’t figure out how in the world they had been separated.  I was already so tired I started thinking maybe I was sleep walking last night and did something strange with them. The search became such an ordeal even Eli was out looking for it. At one point he asked Steven, “Dad did you eat Mom’s ring?”

Steven was so patient and helped me turn the house upside down!!  We found nothing after almost 5 hours of searching….

Okay so to make a long story short.  We took a break and went to a friends house for dinner.  After we got home, I immediately began looking again, praying with every object I picked up that God would lead me to my ring.  About 30 minutes later there it was…….  in the bottom pocket of my pantry organizer under all the packets of Lipton tea. UGH!!!!  I have no doubt that it was Miss Monica who stashed it there.  The funny part is that as we looked we would ask her if she had seen Momma’s ring.  She’d reply, “yep, ‘w’ing.” That little stinker!

I cannot describe the relief that ensued……..  Praise Jesus that He answers even the little prayers!!!

totally true!!! jewelry box is a good idea!

however, I must say even though I don’t keep up with things (thanks to my kids) I am refining my “finding” skills quite nicely. =)………… and my bedroom is VERY organized now due to the fine tooth search as of yesterday!
