We are soooooo happy around here that Daddy is home!! God has done some great things while Steven has been away this summer. We do rejoice that in an indirect way we have been able to be apart of the Kingdom work just by staying on the home front; BUT right now we are MORE than thrilled that Steven is home to stay for a little while. Last night Eli loved having his daddy put him to bed and I must say, according to Steven they got into some pretty deep conversations:
Dad: Eli, I love you and am so proud of you. I will ALWAYS do my best to take care of you.
Eli: I love you too Dad.
Dad: God loves you too, Eli. And when Daddy can’t be around to take care of you, God will ALWAYS be there for you.
Eli: Where does God live?
Dad: In heaven and right here in my heart…
Eli: Does Jesus live there too? and do they live in my heart?
Dad: Yes Jesus lives in Daddy’s heart but not yet in Eli’s…
Eli ponders a minute-
Eli: Yep, God doesn’t live my heart but Woody, Jesse, and Buzz do!!
Dad: hmmmm– I can see that…
Eli: Is God everywhere?
Dad: Yes Eli, God is so big He’s EVERYWHERE all the time.
Eli: Is He in my closet?
Dad: Yes He’s in your closet.
Eli: I don’t want Him to be in my closet!!
Dad: It’s okay Eli, it’s good that God is in your closet and He’s everywhere.
Eli: But on Monster’s Inc. there were monsters in the kids closet and I don’t want ANYBODY in my closet!
The conversation had a few more interesting twists and turns but these were the highlights. Oh the mind of a child! I bet PIXAR never would have guessed that a new theology would be developed through Toy Story and Monster’s Inc. Good reminder to keep an eye on everything being processed through his little mind..
