Life is happening like crazy around here… I ‘ll post more later. One of those BIGS occurred today! Here’s some pics from the week- my kids weren’t too excited about smiling for the camera.

Ultimate Embarrassing Mommy Moment
This will be brief because of the big day tomorrow of VBS and Peak Week kick off, but I couldn’t pass it up.
Tonight we had an adult leader meeting for all of the Peak Week workers. A very sweet youth kept all of the workers kidos for us. Everything was great until they let out. Within five minutes Eli had shot a piece of American Cheese into the slot on the air hockey table where the puck goes, dropped a can of Sprite unintentionally, and then asked our youth intern to open it. It of course EXPLODED all over him and even a bit on his laptop (thankfully that was undamaged)!!! Those moments although trying didn’t not even come close to the horror I experienced when I looked up to see my two munchkins scrounging through my purse. Eli was proudly flying mommy’s pink pantyliner for all to see…….. UGHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh the shame! I was so remorseful and yet grateful that it was an adult meeting and I was not surrounded by youth!
David and Goliath
This past year I took a break from youth and taught a 2year old Sunday School class at church. It’s Eli’s class. We’ve had SUCH good times in there!! We’ve learned all kinds of Bible stories, made fun crafts, and of course sang songs. The Wee Sing Bible CD’s have taught all the best of the best Sunday School songs to my kidos class. One of their all time favorites is “Only a boy Named David.”
Well this morning I got a call from a siding adjuster- yes we are still dealing with the after math of the ginormous hailstorm. After I got off the phone Eli asked who I was talking too. I replied, “He said his name was David.” Immediately he was intrigued. Questions started spilling. “Is Goliath here? Does he have a sling? Can I talk with him? Is it the boy David in the song?” He really had great expectancy for the characters of the song to show up at our house. =)
potty water– yum!!
This was just too disgusting to pass up-
My little climbing Billy Goat, Monica Grace, made herself privy to the Dixie cups on top of the bathroom counter and apparently was thirsty because she dunked it right into the potty and took a drink!!!!!!!!!! I caught her as the first swallow was going down…. I think
There’s more to this experience than you see at first glance. I’ve been told that when I was Monica’s age I very elegantly served my grandmother “tea” out of my little girl tea set. She graciously took a sip and shared in my world of pretend. When my Mom entered the room she questioned as to where the water came from. My reply, “The Potty!!!!!”
I’m scared– a little me!
just to let you know-
We are approaching VBS and our parallel youth event called Peak Week. We would so appreciate your prayers for God to do a great work. It all begins next Monday. Sooooooooo with planning and prep the blogging may be a bit sporadic for a little while. Summer’s at our house are BUSY!! BUSY!!! BUSY!!!!
Old Days–
As you know Steven is gone (coming back tomorrow- YAY!!) I’ve made sure I’ve stayed busy this time and one of the things we have done is to make an overnight visit to Mamaw and Papaw’s house. I’m so blessed to have in-laws I can be comfortable in doing that!!
My Father-n-law is a music director in a teensy Baptist church about an hour from where we live. He’s been there almost 5 years and is dearly loved by the congregation and pastor. This morning we got dressed for church and for the first time trekked to Booneville with them for service. Well like I said I’ve never been there for a Sunday morning service BUT I ended up singing in the choir and HAD A BLAST!!! It totally got me reminiscing about my elementary and younger years. We were apart of a itty bitty church family. It was the kind of church that I, as a three year old, got to sing specials in at least once a month. It never matterd if I forgot an entire verse or not, the people always loved me. Very sweet unity in my childhood church as well as the one I was apart of today! This mornings service was followed by picnic on the grounds. Which of course added to the fun memories!!!!
The morning as a whole was such a precious reminder of how God uses His servants in so many different places and stages of ministry. Great reminder to be faithful where I’m at…
p.s. the pic above isn’t the church- just a close visual! My father-n-law’s church is brick and a bit bigger! didn’t want to be misleading!
